The Day After: First, The Shameless Promotions & Thank Yous

5 girls will not be sold by their fathers in Turkey this year. 5 girls will remain in school and receive the education they deserve. 5 girls will enjoy their childhood. A delightful time was had at our ITB Birthday Bash, Monster Mash & Tiny Peaces fundraiser last night. Several people donated their time and help to make our event a success:
1.A special thank you to the blues band, Mosaic. Paris James, Dave Reedy  (Shameless promotion~ married to our wonderful Tai Chi instructor Sunny) & Craig Thomson delighted many last night with some soulful blues. Not only did they entertain the crowd, they donated their time to help with our fundraiser. Thank you gentlemen!! (Shameless promotion~ Paris has a book of poems coming out this week. Check out his Myspace page for details.)
2. Another thank you goes to our friend, Tracy Perkins, owner of our favorite handmade vegan soaps & oils Strawberry Hedgehog. Tracy read Tarot cards last night with all of the proceeds being donated to the fundraiser.  She was so busy, I didn't even have time to sit with her. (Shameless promotion~ The holidays are right around the corner: Are you looking for the perfect gift, that's great for the environment & not tested on animals? If you answered yes, check out Tracy's website here.)
3. Thank you to Christy & Mitch Moore. They brought this vegetable centerpiece. Look how creative & beautiful it is!

Their Halloween costumes were pretty cute too. They went as Clark Kent & Lois Lane (Beneath that strong exterior of a man is a superman t-shirt)... Funny how these two look very similar to my friends Christy & Mitch.

4. Thank you to all of our regulars, who not only have supported us from day one, but came last night to celebrate our anniversary & helped with the fundraiser. Here are a few of you...

P.S. Will be posting more photos tomorrow of the festivities.
P.S.S. Be forewarned: My guru (aka as my son Drew) turns 13 this Friday. This blog will more than likely turn into a shrine, this week, in his honor. Stay tuned for details.
